Yoga and men: it has more benefits than you think
I'm going to start going to yoga classes! But to be honest, I'm a little embarrassed… Yesterday I went to my first class, and I'm the only guy! Anyway, I'm not going to be surprised… After seeing that all the yoga outfits and ads are aimed solely at women, I was not surprised at all when I walked in the door. Therefore, after researching all the benefits that yoga has for men, and to overcome the embarrassment, I have convinced some of my friends to sign up for the classes with me.
Believe it or not, since its creation, yoga was a discipline that was taught and directed by and for men (there were even times when women were prohibited from doing this practice). However, today for many men the practice of yoga is still taboo ... And I refuse to let this continue! I am convinced that the numerous benefits that yoga offers us, both for men and women, do not understand gender.
One of the arguments that I often hear from the men around me to justify not practicing yoga is their lack of flexibility and elasticity . It is clear that men, in general, have much less flexibility than women. But instead of being an excuse not to practice yoga, it should be one of our reasons for doing it. Thanks to yoga, men gain more muscle elasticity (which in my case, today, is very necessary). In addition, you will also increase your balance and concentration skills , which are never bad, right?
Another of the excuses that are most famous among men is the lack of demand that yoga has. Absolute lie! The fact that in the gym and doing strength exercises the physical appearance of each person is worked much more is not new, but, although it is hard for you to believe it, with yoga you can also achieve great results (both physical and mental ). Also, it's not boring at all. Trying to leave your mind blank is more work than you think... (Believe me).
On the other hand, it has been found that yoga also has certain benefits in terms of male sexual function . This fact is due to the fact that thanks to this discipline you will work the muscles of the pelvis , in addition to improving your mood and libido levels will rise in your body . Likewise, you will avoid the risk of suffering from prostate problems and you will be able to manage your emotions more accurately, since you will know yourself better.
However, you must be clear that the practice of yoga requires a lot of perseverance , so it is recommended that you do small sessions every day. Although this discipline may be difficult at first, it can be very comforting .
